Sixty thousand man hours and over half a million nails, that's what was required to build Little Hawk Resort & Marina's marquee main lodge. The 6,400 square foot retreat replaces the former lodge which was destroyed by fire in October 2003. Housed in the grand building is a full service store, Purser's Provisions, providing fresh baked goods, nautical gifts, fishing supplies and convenience items. The new lodge's pub, The Wharf, comfortably seats 75 people in its spacious booth seating interior and outside on the lakeside deck. The main building also includes an exercise room and several Jacuzzi suites that complement eight two and three bedroom cottages which dot the five-acre paradise.

Your hosts, who live onsite and escaped the fire with just the clothes on their backs, have just finished renovating all the rental cottages, fortunately unharmed in the blaze. In addition to having outfitted each unit with new furniture and kitchen wares, cottages have been painted in a robust Bermuda style, and have had hardwood flooring installed throughout.
